COUNSELING CENTER
At Taylorview Middle School, our counselors are dedicated to helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Middle school is a time of growth and change, and we are here to guide both students and families through the challenges and opportunities it brings.
For Students
Middle school can be exciting — and sometimes a little overwhelming. That’s okay! Your school counselors are here to listen, support you, and help you be your best self.
How We Can Help You
You can come to a counselor if you want support with:
- Schoolwork – getting organized, managing homework, or study tips.
- Friends – solving problems, making new friends, or handling conflict.
- Feelings – stress, worry, sadness, or anything that’s on your mind.
- Planning ahead – exploring your interests and setting goals for the future.
Sometimes we meet with students one-on-one, sometimes in small groups, and sometimes in classrooms. However it happens, our job is to help you feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.
If You’re Worried About a Friend
You can come to a counselor if you want support with:
- At school: Talk to a counselor, teacher, or another adult right away.
- After school: Tell your friend’s parents.
- In an emergency: Call 911 immediately.
For Parents & Families
Taylorview counselors work to create a balanced and supportive learning environment where every student has the chance to succeed. We believe that when schools and families work together, students thrive.
What We Do
You can come to a counselor if you want support with:
- Advisory Lessons – guidance activities on character, career exploration, and healthy decision-making.
- Collaboration – working with parents, teachers, and staff to make sure students have the resources they need.
- Individual Counseling – short-term, solution-focused support for personal, social, or academic challenges.
- Group Counseling – helping students connect with peers and build skills in areas such as friendship, stress management, or study habits.
Our Goals for Students
We encourage students to:
- Take responsibility for their learning.
- Develop healthy study and organizational habits.
- Build strong social skills and friendships.
- Learn resilience and problem-solving strategies.
- Feel empowered to grow into confident, capable young adults.
